Finding the right retailers
Identifying retailers where a brand genuinely fits, rather than simply trying to sell it to everyone.
Experience matters
My career has taken me from retail account management to creating my own independent sales agency. I've worked with National Accounts, independent retailers, distributors and international suppliers.
That experience has taught me that successful sales representation isn't simply about taking orders. It's about finding the right opportunities, opening the right doors and then making sure the relationship continues to work for everyone involved.
To represent every brand as if it were my own.
Independent Sales Representative
In 2012 I took the step into independent sales representation to create my own Sales Agency, combining my experience of National Accounts and independent retail with my passion for great products and brands. Since then, I've built long-term relationships with international suppliers and UK retailers across housewares, tableware, gift, fragrance and lifestyle.
I've worked both directly with suppliers and through UK distributors. Some relationships have lasted for many years; others have involved helping an international supplier establish itself in the UK for the first time.
UK Account Manager
A further ten years managing UK accounts and developing sales for one of the major names in Italian-designed housewares, and seeing how an established design-led brand can grow in the UK market.
Key Accounts Manager
Ten years developing relationships and sales with National and Independent accounts, working with a portfolio of international brands including Guzzini, Sagaform and Dreamfarm. This is where I built the foundation for The Sales Agent.

More than just taking orders
The role of an independent agent can go far beyond traditional sales representation.
Identifying retailers where a brand genuinely fits, rather than simply trying to sell it to everyone.
Building relationships, presenting the brand and turning opportunities into new business.
Working with retailers to develop their ranges, introduce new products and maximise the potential of existing accounts.
Providing product knowledge, staff training, merchandising support and ongoing contact after the sale.
I'm not just representing a brand to retailers. I'm also representing the UK market back to the supplier: what retailers are asking for, what customers are responding to and where there are opportunities to improve.
Building brands in the UK
For some suppliers, that means finding and developing new accounts. For others, it can mean helping establish the infrastructure behind entering the UK in the first place.
And sometimes the job is about maintaining relationships through change, continuing to support brands when their UK distribution arrangements change.
I've worked both directly with manufacturers and through UK distributors such as Forma House, Tradestock, The DRH Collection and MyGiftsTrade, whose portfolio included brands I continue to represent today through different arrangements. That's given me a broad understanding of the industry from every perspective:
What my clients say
And away from the sales desk…
I started DJing for societies and events while studying at the University of Surrey, and more than 30 years later I'm still doing it. I've held a long-running residency at Rubix in Guildford and now DJ for private, corporate and sporting events.
It's perhaps an unusual second career, but there's a surprising amount of crossover with sales: reading the room, understanding your audience, building relationships and making sure people have a great experience.
Different audience but the same passion.
So, why work with The Sales Agent?
I bring together 30+ years of UK retail experience, 25+ years of sales representation, long-standing retailer relationships and an understanding of how international brands can succeed in the UK. But ultimately, it's quite simple:
